Personal Message From Si Connelly.

Okay so I'm writing this on a train right now, That's what my life's been like recently having to learn to multitask which for those of you who know me is know that is impossible.
Firstly I would like to thank everyone that came to last nights Sell Out show at The Troubadour, it was the best performance and audience we have had yet!
Those people who came to last nights Troubadour show will already know this new news but for those who couldn't get a ticket here it is.

Basically after much consideration and head scratching I am happy and very please to announce that I, have become a We.

From this moment on I am no longer going to be a Singer-Songwriter.
I am now in a Band and we are called El Born.

After completing my Debut Album earlier this year it felt right to release it as a Band rather than as a Solo Artist and as I have had a wonderful band with me over this period it felt like the exciting way to deliver my songs to you.

I have been a Singer-Songwriter since I was 13 and that has taken my music and me to so many great and sometimes dark places.

My record is an alternative rock album and it didn't fit the tired bones of a Singer-Songwriter which is why I've been trying to find a "thing" I can become to magnify what is already a great debut album.

Then I was inspired by three things: 1. El Born is one of my favorite places in the world. El Born is a district in Barcelona.
2. An abstract art piece by American artist Michel Keck. The second I saw this emotive work of Michel's I could hear and see the entire career of a new band called El Born (Michel has kindly given me permission to use her work) and 3. El Born kind of means New Birth, which is what it feels like to me.

I want to thank all the Musicians, Fans, Managers, All the record label guys and all of the people that have stuck by me on this long, long, long path.
I won't ever give up as to me It's not about fame or TV shows, it's about making my music and writing 100% of it, then capturing it, then delivering it to you, as raw and real as possible.
That really is my only real goal and why I have been prepared to sacrifice anything to get it right.

Over the years I've done a lot of things that some of you may not understand. I've walked out of Record Deals, Scrapped Albums, Relocated, Turned down going on The Voice, ignored most peoples opinions and advice and that is because I know that I have to follow to gut feeling and stay true to what I believe is the most honest, hard working, raw and real journey towards "Success".
But in truth I think real success is being happy and proud of what you've done, and I am.

The real and best artists are the ones that are prepared to cut their own ear off.

El Born is my next move and I'm so please to be able to finally tell you after my secret plotting.

I am proud to announce that I have a headline show coming up at London's Troubadour. This will be the most important performance I have done to date and will feature a secret twist on the night.  
There is a special guest door list and if you let me know your names you can get on this list.  Warning: The last headline show here sold out so get in early.
There will also be a full support line up on the night including: Paulaa, Canvas Wall, Jay Scott & The Find and Joel Gregory.

So after nearly 8 years of struggle and fighting to get my record done my way, I am very proud to be able to announce that is finally complete.
I am over the moon with how good it is, and now comes the next battle of getting it out.  
After making a record way back with Chrysalis, hating it and then scrapping it, then repeating that process again with Sony,  I was just very focused on making my record and not compromising on it's soul and raw edge of emotion.  It took a lot longer than even I thought and it was like hell getting it myself into the right position to be able to actually make my record.  It took the believe and dedication of many people, Recording Studios,  Band Members, Producers and Friends. Without these people I would have not been able to make this record.
To those people who know me and have followed me throughout the years, you'll know that I was never scared of putting music out or completing a record.  
I was only scared about releasing and producing a record that was just pointless.  You know, a "Whatever" record that would just screw my career long term.

I have only ever had one goal and that was to aim to become the best and make the best record that was Raw, Honest and Powerful and most of all Relevant.  
I know now that it was all worth it and that I have now created that record.  I love every second of it and I am now really looking forward to it becoming the house that I can then work on laying some carpet on before the furniture moves in.

I just wanna say a final thank you to You.  Your interest and continued belief in me has always made me want to work harder.

I am not yet sure about a release date for the album as that is my next domino to knock down. 

I can confirm now though that my Debut Album will be titled "Youth"

Ok Guys,  So here is some vital information about tomorrow night. (Wed 28/11/12).   The Troubadour is a legendary music venue in Earls Court, London.
If you have added your name to the Fan Door List you will recieve significately cheaper entry but please be advised that The Troubadour is a small venue and we are expecting the capacity to easily sell out.  If I were you I would definately arrive at 8pm if you want to secure entry, even if you are on the Door List.

Hi my faithfuls, I wanted to let you know that I have now announced my first London Headline band show at the world famous Troubadour in London, Earls Court.

Wow I am very tired at the moment.  For a number of reasons that I won't bore you with.   I'm living on a rota system every 4 hours on the day.  Sound confusing?  Believe me it is.

There isn't really anything interesting to mention, so my blog may get a little dull for a bit.  I will try my best to make it interesting for you.  Musically I have been writing loads recently, stuff for Album 2 and 3.  It all sounds pretty dirtier than you'd think.  I am always writing something, usually in my head whilst on the move.  So my phone holds many future songs and ideas, so I better hold it close.  Not that it ever rings.  I think I should call it a mobile light.  

I am very happy that F1 is back from it's summer break, I am a huge Hamilton fan and never miss it.  When you're a musician weekends don't really mean anything.  In fact they can be quite frustrating as believe it or not the UK music business and scene operates between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.  Very odd but True.

Everything with my music is going through some transitions which I can tell you more about later down the line.

I can now confirm that my debut release 1982 will be featuring as a lead sync on ITV's Hit Drama Monroe.  Monroe Series 2 starring James Nesbitt will be on prime time TV this October and is watched by Over 9 Million People.  It's just the first door that 1982 has opened along with it reaching 125K views already on YouTube.  The song has triggered significant interest both here and in the U.S.  

To Coincide with this TV airplay, 1982 will also be released as my first official Single in October via my own label Kangaroo Zoo.  So you'll also be able to buy it on iTunes etc!  
It means a hell of a lot to me as 1982 is such a personal song and has become something of an important song for my album.  So Thank You all for keeping it going online.
