Si Connelly steals the show at The Bedford
JULY 8, 2011 BY EISHA COOKE
Last night I went down to legendary The Bedford in Balham, one of the most critically acclaimed music venues in the country, to check out the latest talent on the scene. The line up was great but I was blown away by one particular artist… Si Connelly! Remember his name folks, because he’s going to be big!
Performing alongside vocalist Hils Granger and bassist Phil Brickell, Connelly mesmerised the audience with his headline set. With a vocal range to rival some of the most talented singers in the music industry today, he performed a number of tracks off his latest EP, ‘Songs In Polaroid’s’.
For me, Connelly’s performance stole the show, and I glanced around the audience to discover that it was not only me whose jaw was dropped firmly to the ground and transfixed to the stage.
It came as no surprise to me that Connelly’s song writing is influenced by the likes of John Mayer and Ryan Adams. He proved that he is an extremely talented musician, playing both the acoustic and electric guitar with the utmost passion and dedication.
Connelly is currently putting the finishing touches to his debut album at Metropolis Studios and Monnow Valley Studios with Producer Chris Potter (The Verve, Blur, The Rolling Stones) and Dom Morley (Amy Winehouse, Adele, Mark Ronson, Scott Walker).
